Security in the Department of Huila
Ikusi Colombia has execued a public security project in the Department of Huila in southwest Colombia, representing the first implantation of Ikusi's armadillo security platform in Latin America.
The project consisted of the implementation of a Data Management Center (DMC) with a crisis room and eight management sub-centers in each of the municipalities targeted by the project, among them Neiva, the department capital, with over one million inhabitants, along with the installation of fifty new mobile cameras. The Data Management Center initially avails of the data collected from the fifty cameras installed in the eight municipalities of the department of Huila to enable monitoring over different strategic points in the department in what regards crime prevention as well as disasters and catastrophes. These cameras are supported by an Ethernet communications system (data and video transmission) linking each new camera to its local control center and each municipality to the Data Management Center (DMC).
In sum, the implementation of this data management center makes it possible for the different public authorities to rely on trustwothy real time information in a centralized manner, redounding to civil safety.
