Ikusi, in consortium with the company Controles Electromecánicos, is going to carry out a technological renovation project of the toll plazas at the Paso del Norte, Zaragoza-Ysleta, Guadalupe-Tornillo, and Lerdo-Stanton border bridges in the state of Chihuahua (Mexico).
The modernization, commissioned by Fideicomiso de Puentes Fronterizos de Chihuahua, includes the implementation of a new Toll and Teletoll system, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), as well as the interconnection of the systems with the Border Bridges Operations Control Center, for which 65 kilometers of fiber optics will be deployed.
The Toll-Toll Systems and Intelligent Transportation Systems (comprised of CCTV subsystems, weather stations, dynamic weighing, variable messaging panels (VMS), SOS emergency posts, passage time calculation, and communication network), represent the Trust Fund’s commitment to optimized and sustainable mobility that will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of transportation in a key economic space for the movement of people and goods between Mexico and the United States.
Its deployment will improve the operation and security of the toll plazas, to the benefit of the thousands of users who pass through the transit points located in the State of Chihuahua, within the 3,152 kilometers along the Mexico-US border, which are crossed daily by more than one million people and 300,000 vehicles.
This contract reinforces Ikusi’s positioning as a recognized ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) specialist in the mobility sector and integrator of technologically innovative solutions and services.
