{"id":27380,"date":"2026-06-09T06:56:33","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T06:56:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ikusi.com\/?p=27380"},"modified":"2026-06-09T06:57:34","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T06:57:34","slug":"why-your-sase-isnt-improving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ikusi.com\/en\/why-your-sase-isnt-improving\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Your SASE Is Not Improving User Experience (and How to Fix It)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few months ago, in an article we published on the Ikusi website blog, we mentioned that enterprise security was not transformed by the cloud, but by decentralization\u2014and that this is where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ikusi.com\/en\/services\/enterprise-networks\/sase\/\">SASE <\/a>(Secure Access Service Edge) becomes essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s true: applications are no longer confined to data centers; users no longer work from a single location; and threats no longer originate solely from the outside\u2014they move fluidly across workloads, identities, and encrypted traffic. That\u2019s why, in this context, SASE is not simply a solution; it is an architectural response to a systemic problem: the disconnect between networking and security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, despite the fact that SASE has become one of the key drivers of digital infrastructure transformation, something concerning is happening in many organizations: SASE has been deployed\u2026 but the user experience has not improved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Slow applications, access issues, unpredictable latency. Everything \u201cworks\u201d in theory, yet users still perceive friction. And when that happens, the problem is not the technology\u2014it\u2019s the approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SASE is a network architecture initiative, but it must go one step further. It is also an experience enabler. Integrating components\u2014SD-WAN, security, access\u2014is important, but we must not lose sight of how all of this impacts the user\u2019s day-to-day experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The big gap: lack of visibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many organizations have built SASE environments that operate like black boxes. They don\u2019t know what is really happening between the user and the application. They cannot identify whether the issue lies in the network, the cloud provider, or the SaaS service itself. And without that visibility, any improvement is, at best, reactive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consequence is clear: greater operational complexity and reduced responsiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For SASE to achieve its true purpose, the starting point must change. It is not just about deploying technology, but about designing an experience. And that requires incorporating three key elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ikusi.com\/en\/services\/observability\/end-to-end-observability\/\">end-to-end observability<\/a>\u2014understanding in real time what the user is experiencing, from their device to the application. Without this layer, there is no way to guarantee performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second, true integration between networking, security, and experience. It\u2019s not enough for the components to coexist; they must operate as a single system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And third, an operational model focused on anticipation\u2014shifting from resolving incidents to preventing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This leads us to affirm that SASE is not the destination. It is only part of the journey toward a digital infrastructure ready for AI, where visibility, resilience, and operational simplicity make the difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because, in the end, the question is not whether your architecture is correct. The question is whether your user perceives it that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is why Ikusi approaches SASE as a comprehensive service. It primarily operates under an on-demand model that provides everything from WAN links, connectivity infrastructure, secure web access, endpoint security, email security, provisioning, and
