Interview with Ana Milena Sánchez, Programmability Coordinator at Ikusi Colombia

At Ikusi, you talk about programmability as something more than a technical capability. How do you really understand it?
For us, programmability is not just about scripting or automating tasks. It’s a strategy that transforms the way organizations manage their networks. We’re talking about scaling toward software engineering to build applications that create value, speak the customer’s language, adapt to their operations, and support their technological evolution.
How does that vision translate into a concrete solution?
We have developed Ikusi Network Center, our own platform that centralizes network management and observability in a single application. Our goal is not to replace the manufacturer’s software, but to enhance it. We leverage their APIs to build an upper layer that monitors, correlates, and contextualizes what happens in the network.
What architectures does this platform cover?
Ikusi Network Center integrates with the four core architectures: data center, networking, collaboration, and security. It also allows for gradual adoption. Clients can independently subscribe to each functionality from the available modules and even request direct connections to their devices to minimize response times.
What would you say is the main differentiator of your proposal?
Without a doubt, the customer-centric approach. The platform adapts to their structure—locations, schedules, roles—and generates personalized reports by role, manages alerts, and automates repetitive tasks such as report generation. This enables teams to focus on analysis and informed decision-making.
Could you give a concrete example of how it works in practice?
Of course. If an organization has four sites and one experiences issues, Ikusi Network Center detects them, confirms there are no false positives, and directs alerts to the appropriate teams. This observability and correlation capability drastically reduces diagnosis times and improves operational experience, without directly intervening in resolution.
Does the platform connect with other enterprise systems?
Yes, it integrates with systems such as ITSM, providing a comprehensive view of the technological environment. Through this integration, Ikusi Network Center can create, process, and close incidents semi-automatically or fully automatically, according to the rules defined by each organization.
How does this solution evolve with the client?
It’s a living application that evolves with architectures and client needs. It can be offered as a product or as a service. In the latter case, our professionals actively listen, diving deep into the client’s operations to deliver valuable customizations tailored to their reality.
What final message would you like to convey?
At Ikusi, we understand that not all clients are the same. Each has its own architecture, operations, and internal processes that require a unique approach. That’s why we design solutions that integrate with their environment, amplifying efficiency and control of their infrastructure. Because all organizations depend on their network, and when it is understood and managed intelligently, technology becomes a true driver of business.
