Ikusi Drives a New Solidarity Initiative: Volunteering at the Dear Dog Diary Shelter

On April 29, Ikusi carried out a new volunteer initiative at the Dear Dog Diary shelter, a space dedicated to the care and protection of dogs and cats that have suffered abandonment or abuse. This activity, joined by 29 volunteers from different areas of Ikusi and 5 family members, represented an opportunity to give these animals a second chance and contribute to building a more compassionate, responsible society that is aware of animal welfare.
Through activities such as cleaning areas and spending time with the dogs, participants directly contributed to their well-being. In addition, thanks to the participation and generosity of donors, 410 kg of dry dog food, 77.5 kg of cat food, 6 boxes of wet food, and various cleaning supplies were collected—representing significant support for the care and attention of the animals in the shelter.
At Ikusi, participating in solidarity actions is seen as planting hope through every gesture, as it fosters a connection with meaningful causes, strengthens empathy, and reinforces the collective commitment to building a fairer and more supportive environment.
This new activity continues the path that Ikusi began last year in Mexico City, where it promoted biodiversity conservation by designing a 90-square-meter pollinator garden with 140 plants. Meanwhile, in Monterrey, Ikusi collaborated with the Nuevo León Food Bank by donating 100 kilograms of food.
Actions like these reflect the importance of building a culture of volunteering within Ikusi—a culture that brings people together, raises awareness within the team about their surroundings, and motivates active contributions to improving the lives of those who need it most.
