With SD-WAN software-defined networks, Ikusi offers customers the means of creating their own WAN network with any operator and with any communication technology. Even with a normal fiber-optic, ADSL or 4G connection, you can have an encrypted point-to-point VPN (Virtual Private Network, which allows a secure extension of the local area network over a public or uncontrolled network such as the Internet). This has similar functions to MPLS networks, but at a much more competitive price.

Another advantage of SD-WAN is that it provides customers with visibility and control of WAN traffic similar to what you have in your local area network. You can establish policies to prioritize some traffic over others, even using several WAN lines to balance the traffic on one line or the other depending on statistics or service level agreements (SLAs). This is known as traffic shaping.

In addition, these networks offer access to statistics and historical usage data, which allow you to diagnose problems and make a better choice of which type of lines you should hire for the operation of your business.
